Eligibility For Admissions

Admissions to the B.Tech/M.Tech/MCA/MBA program shall be made subject to the eligibilty, qualifications and specialization prescribed by the universiy from time to time.

Admissions shall be made on the basis of merit rank obtained by the qualifying candidate at an Entrance Test conducted by the University, subject to reservations prescribed by the university from time to time.

EAMCET

Engineering Agriculture and Medicine Common Entrance Test (EAMCET)

EAMCET Entrance Examination is the gateway for entry into various professional courses offered in Government/Private Colleges in Telangana. The EAMCET test is taken by a large number of engineering and medical aspirants in the state. Presently, the JNTU located in Hyderabad conducts the examination on behalf of APSCHE.

CEEP

“Common Entrance Examination for Admission into Polytechnic (CEEP -2009)”

The State Board of Technical Education and Training, Andhra Pradesh, Hyderabad will conduct “Common Entrance Examination for Admission into Polytechnic (CEEP -2009)” for the candidates seeking admission to all Diploma Courses in Engineering /Non Engineering/ Technology offered at Polytechnics / Institutions (including Aided and Unaided Private Polytechnics/ Institutions) in Telangana State for the academic year 2009-2010.

Candidates should have passed, or compartmentally passed or appearing for SSC or its equivalent examination, recognised as equivalent to S.S.C. by the Board of Secondary Education, A.P.Hyderabad are also eligible to apply.

The Candidates should have passed in all the subjects or pending result of their qualifying examination, their entry shall be subject to their securing a pass in all the subjects in the said qualifying examination.

Detailed Information regarding eligibility, age and syllabus etc., are given in the “CEEP-2009 Booklet” which is supplied along with ICR FORM and is available for sale at a cost of Rs.10/- (Rupees Ten only) from the Principals of Govt.Polytechnic, Private Polytechnics and AP online centers (Detalis can be sen on website http://dteap.ac.in).

GATE

Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is an all India examination administered and conducted jointly by the Indian Institute of Science and seven Indian Institutes of Technology on behalf of the National Coordination Board - GATE, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India.

The GATE committee, which comprises of representatives from the administering institutes, is the sole authority for regulating the examination and declaring the results.

GATE is conducted through the constitution of eight zones. The zones and the corresponding administrative institutes are:

Zone-1: Indian Institute of Science Bangalore
Zone-2: Indian Institute of Technology Bombay
Zone-3: Indian Institute of Technology Delhi
Zone-4: Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati
Zone-5: Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur
Zone-6: Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur
Zone-7: Indian Institute of Technology Madras
Zone-8: Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee

The following categories of candidates are eligible to appear in GATE :

Bachelor degree holders in Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture (4 years after 10+2) and those who are in the final or pre-final year of such programmes.

Master degree holders in any branch of Science/ Mathematics/ Statistics/ Computer Applications or equivalent and those who are in the final or pre-final year of such programmes.

Candidates in the second or higher year of the Four-year Integrated Master degree programme (Post-B.Sc.) in Engineering/ Technology or in the third or higher year of Five-year Integrated Master degree programme and Dual Degree programme in Engineering/ Technology.

Candidates with qualifications obtained through examinations conducted by professional societies recognised by UPSC/AICTE (e.g. AMIE by IE(I), AMICE(I) by the Institute of Civil Engineers (India)-ICE(I)) as equivalent to B.E./B.Tech. Those who have completed section A or equivalent of such professional courses are also eligible.

PGECET

Post-graduate Engineering Common Entrance Test (PGECET) 2009 for admission into M.E./M.Tech./M.Pharm./M.Arch./M.Plg. Courses in the University and Affiliated Engineering Colleges in Telangana.

Applications are invited for appearing at the Post-graduate Engineering Common Entrance Test (PGECET) for admission into M.E. /M.Tech./M.Pharm./M.Arch/M.Planning(Full Time) in University and Affiliated Engineering Colleges in A.P. to be conducted by Osmania University .

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

Candidates satisfying the following requirements will be eligible to appear for the PGECET – 2009.

i) The candidate should be of Indian Nationality.

ii)The candidate should satisfy Local/Non-Local status requirement as laid down in A.P. Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admission) order of 1974 as subsequently amended.

iii)The candidate should have passed or appeared for the final year of B.E./B.Tech/AMIE/B.Pharmacy/B.Arch./B.Planning or equivalent examination for seeking admission into post-graduate courses and its specialization.

iv)Eligibility requirement is as per each programme/course offered and details are given in information booklet which is available along with application form or in website: www.osmania.ac.in and www.pgecet2009.net.

I-CET 2009 Notification

In terms of orders issued by the Government of Telangana and the proceedings by A.P. State Council of Higher Education, Hyderabad, applications are invited for appearance at the integrated Common Entrance Test for admission into 1st year MBA/MCA Degree Course for the academic year 2009-2010 in the following universities and their affiliated colleges offering MBA/MCA Programme.

The Candidates are advised to submit the duly filled in Application Form for Entrance Test by Speed Post through the Head Post Offices or delivered in person at the Office of The Convener, ICET-2009, Andhra University College of Engineering, Andhra University, Visakhapatnam - 530 003 (A.P.) on or before stipulated date.

I-CET 2009 Eligibility:

a) The candidates should be Indian National and should satisfy local/non-local status requirements laid down in the Andhra Pradesh Educational Institutions (Regulations of Admission) Order, 1974 as amended up to date (as per G.O.Ms.No.25, date :19-03-2004 & G.O.Ms.No.108, Higher Education Department, dated 30-07-2005 and its amendments).

b) The Candidate other than Indian Nationals should satisfy the rules of the Universities concerned.

c) A pass (or) appearance at the final year examinations of Bachelor’s Degree (Except BOL and BFA) of any University in Andhra Pradesh or Any other University Recognized as equivalent thereto.

d) The candidate seeking admission into MBA course should have passed a Bachelor’s Degree Examination of not less than three years duration from any recognized University or equivalent thereof basides passing SSC or equivalent examination with Mathematics as one of the subjects.

e) The candidate seeking admission into MCA course should have passed a Bachelor’s Degree Examination or not less than three years duration in any discipline with Mathematics at 10+2 level (or) should have passed BAchelor’s Degree Examination of not less than 3 years duration in any discipline with Mathematics as one of the subjects.

f) The candidates who are appearing for the final year degree examination shall also be eligible to appear for ICET-2009

g) Admission into any college depends on its Recognition/Affiliation by the Statutory Bodies.

h) Qualifying marks in ICET-2009 is 25% and no minimum marks prescribed for SC/ST candidates.

Mere qualification in the entrance test does not entitle a candidate to have been admitted into MBA/MCA COURSE unless the candidate:

(i) appears before the on-line counseling at any of the Counseling Centres notified.

(ii) applies in response to the admission notification issued by the authority concerned (for distance mode) satisfies the eligibility conditions of admission stipulated by the authority concerned.

c) A pass (or) appearance at the final year examinations of Bachelor’s Degree (Except BOL and BFA) of any University in Andhra Pradesh or Any other University Recognized as equivalent thereto.

d) The candidate seeking admission into MBA course should have passed a Bachelor’s Degree Examination of not less then three years duration from any recognized University or equivalent thereof basides passing SSC or equivalent examination with Mathematics as one of the subjects.
