CPR was demonstrated to students of JITS in Karimnagar, and students were given hands-on training

The Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) Karimnagar chapter in association with the NSS unit of Jyothishmathi Institute of Technology and Science (JITS) (Autonomous), Karimnagar, imparted life saving skills to the students on saturday.

The students received in-college training in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). The Doctors taught the students the correct steps to perform adult, child and infant CPR. The students learned CPR on a mannequin to practice scene safety, checking for responsiveness, checking for breathing, the correct way of chest compressions etc.

IRCS Karimnagar branch Chairman Kesava Reddy, Secretary Radhakrishna Reddy, Dr. Rajendra Prasad and Dr. Sai Charan explained the importance of CPR to save a life following a cardiac arrest of a person. The idea is to train the student community so that they would rescue a person during sudden cardiac arrest.

Principal Dr. K. Srinivasa Rao said that every individual should be trained in the CPR technique, for cardiac complications could happen to anyone all of a sudden. JITS Chairman Sri. J. Sagar Rao congratulated the faculty members for providing CPR training to students and helping society. NSS programme officer Vishwa Prakash Babu, Coordinators Praneetha, Satish Chandra, Bhagya and Kia hospital representatives were also present.
