The Jyothishmathi Institute of Technology and Science (JITS) in association with Honeywell and ICT Academy has formally launched the Centre of Excellence for Women Empowerment on November 25, 2022.
The Centre aims to empower the students of the institution with digital skills such as Big Data Analytics, AI, ML, RPA etc. The Centre of Excellence will train 100 students on advanced technologies and provide global certification from tech giants, facilitating placements for certified students.
The training programme comprises of 100 hours of learning and opportunities for the students to participate in the hackathons and youth empowerment summit. Apart from the students, four faculty members will be trained in advanced technologies.
Speaking about this initiative, Mr. N. Amarnath, Assistant General Manager, Corporate and Government Initiatives said, “Technology has become part of every business. As technologies evolve, skilling will be a key to employment and economic development. At ICT Academy, we continuously strive to develop a sustainable skill ecosystem right from the bottom of the pyramid by collaborating with corporates, the government, and academia. This programme is a step forward to serve society and will enable needy students to get trained in technologies required in the fourth industrial revolution.”
JITS Principal Dr. K. Srinivasa Rao expressed his gratitude to Honeywell and ICT Academy for setting up the Centre of Excellence for “Women Empowerment”, which is a CSR Initiative of Honeywell. This Centre of Excellence will help the students to learn the Robotics Process Automation program, which is a need-of-the-hour skill in the industry. Through this Centre of Excellence, Hundred of underprivileged students in the institution learn the technology and get the global certification Programme at Zero cost. They are also supported with placement assistance at the end of the programme.
