ZP CEO makes first move to inaugurate State-Level Chess tournament at JITS

As a part of the Silver Jubilee celebrations of Jyothishmathi Institute of Technology and Science (JITS), a Two-Day Telangana State-Level Chess Tournament was formally inaugurated in the college campus on September 2nd, 2022.

Zilla Parishad CEO CH. Priyanka Karnan inaugurated the event by making the first move of the chess tournaments. Speaking on the occasion, she informed the students to accord priority to sports along with education. Playing chess would help sharpen the brain and improve concentration levels of the students and helps in coping with stressful situations, she stated.

The competitions would be held in three categories viz. college, high school and upper primary school. In each category, the first three winners would be provided with cash prizes and trophies. Besides, consolation prizes of trophies would be presented to the best district player and best women player. A total of Rs 25,000 worth of cash prizes and 50 trophies would be presented to the winners in various categories.

JITS Chairman J. Sagar Rao, Principal Dr. K Srinivasa Rao, Tournament Coordinator Vishwaprakash Babu and Organising Secretary R. Venkateshwar Rao and Genius Chess Academy Director Kankati Anoop Kumar and others were also present.
