Jyothishmathi Institute of Technology and Science, Karimnagar was established by Shalini Vidya Samstha in August 1997 to cater the needs of higher technical education in the rural areas of Karimnagar and the adjoining districts which lacked the existence of an engineering college.
JITS was established with an aim to offer holistic education in Technology and Sciences for the empowerment of students from all the strata of society by promoting academic excellence, employability, and leadership with social commitment. During the last 21 years, the college has grown abundantly to become one of the leading Engineering colleges in Telangana state.
The vision and mission of the management are reflected in the achievements of the students of the college. The students of this college have shown their academic excellence by getting high ranks and medals at the University level and being placed in renowned Indian and foreign MNCs. I extend my sincere thanks to the parents who stood with us all the time and expect continuous support in the coming years.

Dr. K. S. Rao has obtained his B. Tech and M. Tech degrees from KITS and REC, WARANGAL respectively in ELECTRONICS & INSTRUMENTATION Engineering with specialization in Bio Medical Instrumentation and Signal Processing. He joined in teaching profession in 1989 and subsequently obtained Doctorate degree from VRCE, NAGPUR in 1997.
He became Associate Professor and Professor in 1994 and 1999 respectively. He had published several papers in National and International Journals/ Conferences. He was Instrumental in setting up of various laboratories in the field of Electronics and Computer Technology for UG and PG programs. Since, 2000 he headed Three Engineering colleges in Andhra Pradesh and was responsible in organizing several developmental programs for faculty and students, National level conferences, National level students Technical meets, Training programs in the advanced technologies, developed Industry institute Interaction, etc. He was Instrumental in organizing International Conference” Recent Trends in Signal processing and VLSI Design SPVL-2010 at Guru Nanak Engineering College, Hyderabad during 2010. He was instrumental in getting collaboration with Indo-US Collaboration for Engineering Education (IUCEE).
He was instrumental in getting NBA Tier-1 and NAAC grade ‘A’ accreditations and NIRF ranking at Anurag Group of Institutions and has encouraged faculty to contribute in developing research activity which resulted in quality paper publication in Scopus, SCI and other well reputed international journals.
He successfully supervised 5 Research scholars leading to the award of PhD degree from JNTUH and KL University. His areas of interests include, Microprocessors, Signal Processing, VLSI Design and Neural Networks.
