The Department of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI & ML) was introduced in the academic year 2020 with a intake of 60 students subsequently increased to 120 students. It is a subdiscipline of Computer Science and Engineering that focuses on the use of technology to create intelligent machines that can think and function like humans. Artificial intelligence (AI) is a technology that allows a machine to mimic human behaviour. ML is a subset of AI that allows a machine to learn from previous data without having to design it directly. The goal of AI is to create a clever computer system that can solve complicated problems in the same way that people can. Machine learning is concerned with the creation of computer programmes that can access data and learn on their own.
The department is well-equipped, with renovated laboratories that include high-end computers with the most up-to-date software and cutting-edge IT infrastructure. All of these computer resources are linked via a high-speed intranet with 1 Gbps internet access to the rest of the globe.
The students are carefully directed and instructed by highly qualified and experienced instructors. Using modern facilities such as Smart Digital Boards, LCD Projectors, and Laptops, the department is making the teaching and learning process more effective, making JITS one of the top B.Tech institutions in Telangana.
