𝗝𝗜𝗧𝗦 (𝗔𝘂𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝗼𝘂𝘀) 𝗦𝗲𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗘𝘅𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗦𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝗙𝗶𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗮 – 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲
The Annual Intercollegiate Sports Meet “𝙎𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙨 𝙁𝙞𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙖 – 2026” was formally inaugurated at Jyothishmathi Institute of Technology and Science (JITS) (Autonomous), Karimnagar, on 6th February 2026 with great enthusiasm and sporting spirit.
The inaugural ceremony was graced by JITS Principal Dr. T. Anil Kumar, JIPS Principal Dr. V. Raj Kumar, JITS Dean (Academics & Audit) Dr. P. K. Vaishali, along with faculty members and student coordinators, who collectively declared the sports meet open.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. T. Anil Kumar, Principal of JITS, emphasized the importance of sports in holistic development. He stated that sports help in bringing out hidden talent by fostering a spirit of competition, cooperation, discipline, tolerance, and leadership qualities, in addition to promoting physical fitness and mental well-being.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. V. Raj Kumar, Principal of JIPS, highlighted the essence of true sportsmanship. He urged the participants to maintain a positive sports spirit, stating that winning or losing a match is secondary, but respecting opponents, following rules, and playing with integrity truly define a sportsperson. He encouraged students to treat sports as a platform for learning teamwork, resilience, and mutual respect.
The Sports Fiesta – 2026 will be conducted from 6th to 12th February 2026, featuring a variety of events including cricket, volleyball, throw ball, table tennis, chess, and carroms. Teams from various colleges are actively participating, making the event vibrant and competitive.
The week-long sports meet aims to promote unity, healthy competition, and sportsmanship among students, ensuring an energetic and memorable sporting experience for all participants.
