Jyothishmathi Institute of Technology and Science (Autonomous) organized a session on โEmpowering Innovators โ A Guide to Entrepreneurshipโ, as part of its institutional initiative aligned with the Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME), Government of India, aimed at fostering self-reliance and economic empowerment through structured incubation support.
The event was graced by Professor K. C. Choudhury, Ex-Assistant Director Grade-I, Ministry of MSME, Government of India, who attended as the Chief Guest. With an extensive experience of over 36 years in MSME development, Shri Choudhury has played a key role in nurturing business incubators, mentoring startups, and implementing enterprise development programs across the country.
In his keynote address, Shri Choudhury highlighted the critical role of institutional incubation in supporting budding innovators. He provided insights on various MSME schemes, Udyam registration, and funding opportunities available for student-led startups. His address encouraged both students and faculty to move beyond academic learning and explore the world of entrepreneurship with sustainable and scalable ideas.
The event commenced with the traditional lighting of the lamp (Jyothi Prajwalana), followed by welcome speeches by Principal Dr. T. Anil Kumar and Dr. R. Jegadeesan, Head of the Department, CSE who emphasized the growing significance of entrepreneurship in today’s educational and economic landscape.
The event proceedings were smoothly coordinated by Ms. G. Sindhusha, Assistant Professor, CSE along with Dr. P. Pranitha, CSE. The session saw active participation from faculty members, department heads, and final-year students from CSE, CSM, and ECE branches. Dignitaries shared their collective vision for the incubation centre, envisioning it as a springboard for innovative ideas contributing to local development and national progress.
To symbolize growth and sustainability, a tree plantation drive was also organized. Neem and Peepal saplings were planted on the campus by the Chief Guest, management members, faculty, and students, reaffirming the institutionโs commitment to environmental stewardship and long-term growth.
A warm welcome was extended to Shri K. C. Choudhury by Jyothishmathi Group of Institutions Chairman Sri. J. Sagar Rao Garu, Secretary and Correspondent Sri J. Sumith Sai Garu, Principal Dr. T. Anil Kumar, Dean (Academics and Audit) Dr. P. K. Vaishali, Head of the Department, CSE Dr. R. Jegadeesan, and Ms. G. Sindhusha, SPOC of the program, acknowledging his valuable presence and contributions to the success of this initiative. Dr. A. Jayalaxmi, Professor of EEE and Director of UGC Affairs at JNTUH, who served as the session speaker for the AICTE-ATAL sponsored FDP organized by the Department of EEE, also took part in the plantation programme.
